Title

Assipattle was a community street performance in Wick bringing together over 400 performers from across Caithness aged 5 - adult in a spectacle based on the Highland tale of Assipattle and the Mester Stoorworm. It was created over two months working with school, youth and community groups and attracted an audience of 5,000.

"What a show! What a night! A truly amazing spectacle which exceeded everyone’s expectations and the crowds turned out in force to give their support. At the end of the day what really mattered was the 400 youngsters from all over the county taking part in an event that they will never forget. The kids all gave their hearts and souls to it and they really did achieve something special.

Arguably though, the biggest benefit will be to the community as a whole. For a place the size of Caithness to pull together so many strands and mount a project on this scale… well, I think we can all feel that little bit more confident, more proud of our community."

"A triumph. The audience loved it, the youngsters obviously enjoyed it and the professionals backstage must be proud." Courier
