  • Past performances have included myths, legends, historical tales, and reworkings of opera and classic texts.
  • The style and content is matched to the interests and skills of the participants. Circus skills, fire performance, stilt walking, street theatre, performance, dance and music are all used as well as a range of visual arts to ensure wide participation and engagement.

  • The final performance is normally an outdoor performance (to cater for the numbers of performers and audience) but can be site-specific, promenade or in a single large venue.

  • Throughout the process there is a conscious effort to pass on skills and to empower groups to take on and make their own the techniques and approaches used. Where possible training is given to staff and youth workers to allow them to continue to use the skills.

  • 50-500 people of all ages, experiences and abilities. Wherever possible Theatre Modo will work with existing groups to ensure a legacy, and will work with them in their own spaces at times convenient to the group.
